Click the picture above to check out our honeymoon pictures.

Yes, yes, yes… we know the wedding pictures aren’t up, but you can expect Cait to be posting all about that in the next couple days.  Now for the honeymoon!!

We stayed at the RIU Palace Mexico in Playa Del Carmen Mexico for 6 days, 5 nights.  Playacar is located about 50 miles south of Cancun, and is an absolutely beautiful area.  We wanted to stay somewhere away from the hustle and bustle party life of Cancun, yet in the tropical area… so this worked out absolutely beautifully.  It is an all-inclusive resort which means that EVERYTHING is paid for: all meals, drinks, beer, whatever you want.  I’ll break down the honeymoon by days so that you can get a feel of what we did.

Sunday:  We arrive at the hotel about 6pm, grabbed some food and checked out the hotel ammenities.  The dinner there was absolutely great; we had prime rib, clams, anything you can think of.  We took a midnight walk on the beach and called it a night after a long day of traveling

Monday:  We awake to eat breakfast and rented a sailboat (free of course) from the hotel and took it out for quite a while in the ocean.  The rest of the day was filled with playing in the water, having a few cocktails, and shopping in Playa.

Tuesday:  We decided to take a snorkeling trip to Cozumel to the coral reefs around the island.  After the snorkeling tour featuring many fish and coral oddities, we ate lunch and decided to shop some more around the island.  We had a few hours to kill before we got back on the ferry to go back to the mainland, so we rented a moped and drove to the other side of Cozumel, which was probably one of the best parts of the trip.  The other coast contained no resorts or hotels… it was just pure refined beautiful beach.  After finishing our moped ride, we took the ferry back to Playa which takes about 1 hour, ate some dinner, shopped a little more around the market and called it a night.

Wednesday:  This was going to be a very long day.  We woke up and boarded a bus around 8am to take a tour to Chichen Itza, which are the largest mayan ruins in the area.  The ruins are about 3 hours away, but the tour bus ride was delightfully broken up into a few stops including an authentic mayan market, and a beautiful natural lagoon in the middle of nowhere.  After seeing the great sights at the ruins, we took a nap on the way back to the hotel so that we could meet for our dinner that night at the hotel.

Thursday:  Our last full day in Mexico was spent being incredibly lazy and resting.  We spent the ENTIRE day at the beach, renting jet ski’s, boogie boarding, drinking a few pina coladas, and playing in the beautifully turquoise water.  Unfortunately we spent just a little bit too much time outside for Cait’s skin, and she got burnt pretty bad.  She was a little sick that night, but other than that she got through the whole ordeal like a pro.

Friday:  Woke up early for our flight back to the USA.  Pretty fast flight, only 3.5 hours non-stop.  We arrived back in NY about 10 at night after driving from Philadelphia to home.

We’re in Playa del Carmen now on our honeymoon.  More pictures and lots of words to come.  Now we’re getting off this damn computer and going out in the sun and I’m grabbing a cocktail.

We’re warm, you’re not.  We win.

It’s official, we’re married.  For those who weren’t there I was pretty John was handsom we danced, ate food, celebrated and drove away in a car that had a penis and boobs on the headlights.  The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception actually was alot of fun, nothing major to complain about it was a really successful night that I was glad to share with my family and friends.  Thanks to everyone who helped and came to share this with us I had the best day.

Next time you have 3 minutes of free time, take a chair outside and stand on top of it.  Then look up to the sky and tell me how you feel.

If you begin to feel dizzy, feel as if the world is spinning, and you will fall down, then you have have the same condition as me: Vertigo.

The thing is, I’m not afraid of heights at all.  I can stand on a 70 story building, look down, and I feel absolutely safe… but if you ask me to look UP, I’ll feel completely vulnerable.  Maybe it’s the expansive sky I thought, until a few days ago.  I found that if the ceiling above me is at least 20 feet high I still have the same problem.

I bet it didn’t help that I had to wire an entire warehouse with about 20 cables, each about 25 feet up in the rafters today.  Now that was some scary stuff for me.

It’s GOOD to be summoned for jury duty 2 days before your wedding.  It’s also GOOD that it may interfere with the doctor appointment that will tell you the sex of your baby.

My mother came down with this super concentrated 48 hour flu bug, while she was sick I brought her juice and of course caught it.  I had it probably three times worse though.  To put it in perspective, she threw up once.  I threw up about 17 times.  It’s GOOD for a pregnant woman to throw up and not eat correctly for 3 days.  Then, of course, two days later I gave it to John.  At least we share. Sorry John.

My Dog, Newton, has Canine Papilloma Virus.  Basically the HPV equivilent for dogs…in their mouths.  Some of the warts stick out of his mouth, and there are some around his nose.  We named one “Rod Stewart” and another one “The Cauliflower”. Disgusting.   There is apparently no cure for it in upstate New York, they are supposed to go away on their own.

John fell down the stairs this morning.

So after working in the IT Network Administration world for about a month now, i’d like to offer you ALL some valuable advice if you end up working - teaching - or looking at or near a computer with an IT department.

  1. When IT sends you an e-mail with high importance, delete it at once. We’re probably just testing out the public groups.
  2. When you get the message saying “Are you sure?” click on that ‘Yes’ button as fast as you can. Hell, if you weren’t sure, you wouldn’t be doing it, would you?
  3. When the printer still won’t print after you hit “print” 20 times, go ahead and send the document to all 53 printers in the building, we’re just sure that one of them will work.
  4. When it’s 5 minutes past our shift and you see us with our coats on ready to leave, feel free to ask us your questions, I mean ANYTHING. We don’t mind working for free, nor do we have families to go home to. All we really wanna do is work on computers 24 hours a day.
  5. When you are trying to listen to internet radio, make sure you call us when they come in choppy or skipping, because we have nothing better to do. There might be a server down somewhere but your listening pleasure is our goal.
  6. For the love of God, your monitor is not your computer.  There is a difference, I swear to you.
  7. We like it when you try to sound smart about how you have this home computer with a really cool graphics card.  We certainly love it when you spit out a bunch of numbers and acronyms only to get one of them wrong, attempting to sound smart, but in the process we laugh on the inside.
  8. You do not know more about computers than us.  Period.
  9. Yours is not the most important problem in the world, as I’m sure you’ll be able to check your email again and go to pogo.com in 5 minutes. Emails and the internet don’t have legs, they won’t walk away, and they are very patient.
  10. Come to us with flyers from the newspaper and ask us if the latest Gateway is a good deal. Even though you have no intention of buying it anyway, we love explaining everything to you and taking our time to carefully go over everything even though you don’t want to buy anything, that’s our job.
  11. Feel free to bring in stuff from home and ask us to take time out of our day to look at it. I mean, come on we get paid to fix your stuff from home.
  12. Don’t hesitate to ask me if you can take some RAM home to “try out”.  No.  Only we’re allowed to do that =D

And by the way, I’ve never felt so nerdy in my life today when I recieved my first ever Dilbert comic via email from some other IT guys.

Today is the First of February we’re getting married in 17 days.  17 days?!
