Okay. So I have a moment to update. Whew.
As mentioned in the previous post, I took a new job. Couple months ago I got a job at a pretty great Healthcare company here in Atlanta (which I didn’t mention here) because I was afraid I wouldn’t be there long considering the benefits that they provided (and mislead me to believe were there), or more-so the lack of benefits that they offered there. So I found another job elsewhere.
The new company that I work for is Computer Troubleshooters. They are about a 460+ location franchise computer solutions company that has branched out world-wide over the past 10 years (specifically in Austrailia, Korea, South Africa, etc). I actually work at the corporate USA office in downtown Atlanta, where I was hired on as the Senior Systems Engineer… but the title really doesn’t explain the job description that well. My boss is a great guy and he is the Director of Operations for entire USA. My job lately has been one of business consulting and project management, along with technical support to my techs out in the field.
I kind of see my role in IT heading in that direction. I’m a pretty personable guy, and all too often it’s hard to find people like that in IT… thus making me more apt to gear towards the business consulting side of the business while still have the technical guts to back everything up.
It’s a great job, but a lot of afterhours work unfortunately right now. It seems like all I do is work, come home late a night, eat, go to walmart/store, play with Dominic, then go to bed with my lovely wife. Soon though when I get a lot of these business contracts done it will free up my time to spend with Cait and baby.
And since I took a job in downtown the commute from where we were before was about 2 hours one way. Ridiculous. So, we got a house a little closer to the city and in a nice area East of Atlanta. We live about 8 miles from Stone Mountain, and were so very excited to move into our first official house together. We’ll post pictures soon, but until then enjoy this googlemap.
I swear that we’re going to update within 2 days. Lots of stuff has happened like, umm, we moved into a house and I got a new job. Lots and lots and lots of things to do with no spare time to do it.
